Gallium compounds are bone-targeting agents that are potent inhibitors of bone breakdown and may be broadly useful for diseases associated with accelerated bone loss.

Emisphere has entered into a number of proof-of-concept studies with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies for various injectable compounds. These studies are ongoing and the Company seeks to increase its development of additional oral products with these partners in the future.
